Russia,
Faces from a collapsed empire
Many different topics may be written about Russia, as well as photograph Infinity of subjects or people, but the weeks that I spent in that enormous country I kept the feel of a common gray destiny from a dark past, in all the glances I found, also in all the people with whom I talked with, impossible avoid the extended shade of so long totalitarianism, maybe one of the hardest in the human history,
The old Soviet Union was an invented empire, forged on the murder of million of people, isolated physical and mentally behind walls of lies and terror, maybe the best example is reproduce a letter here, a letter that the comrade Lenin sent to the comrade Kurski in 1922, we will read how the founder of the Soviet Union built with blood and fire the destiny of million of citizens in his own mother country Russia, and later, extended to many other countries in the rest of the world, it´s just shattering!
Comrade kurski:
As a complement to our conversation I send you a sketch of the paragraph that must be added to the penal code. I hope that in spite of all the deficiencies of the sketch, the fundamental idea is clear: it´s about to expose openly a thesis, politically usefull (beyond the merely legal thing), that motivates the essence and the justification of the terror, its necessity and its limits.
Justice does not have to abolish terror; to promise such thing would be to be deceived oneself and the others. It is necessary to find the most possible wide formula, since only the notion of revolutionary justice and the revolutionary conscience can provides the suitable conditions for a more or less extensive practical application.
A communist greeting; Lenin.
